Portfolio Manager

 

Our Client is the UK's leading wealth manager and it serves affluent, high net worth and intermediary clients worldwide, providing international and private banking, fiduciary services, investment management and brokerage.


To act as the Portfolio Manager and, together with a Client Relationship Manager, manage clients' portfolios in accordance with the client's individual objectives as stipulated by the Client Agreement Letter and in accordance with the Company's Investment Framework and the regulatory requirements.

The Role:

Provide a professional investment service to all clients in line with the Company's business objectives.

Work with the Client Relationship Manager to review clients' portfolios for the ongoing suitability of investments.

Keep abreast of market investment information and maintain a working knowledge of all professional developments ensuring this is acted upon in the company's and the client's interests.

Advising on and managing clients' investment portfolios (principally alternative assets, stocks, shares, collective investments and structured products).

Dealing for clients in stocks, shares, collectives.

Ensuring that all personal records in relation to FSA approved persons performance reviews and training and competency issues are kept up to date.

Academic and professional qualifications

Essential

SII Diploma including Private Client Advice and Investment Advice and Management Paper OR Investment Management Certificate

Suitable equivalent (s) as per the Financial Services Skills Council list for managing investments

 

The Person:

Broad experience of the Financial Services industry, particularly in the areas of Retail regulated products and services to mass market and high net worth customers and asset management.

Detailed regulatory knowledge of in particular of the UK regulatory requirements and an overall understanding of the business impact of the regulatory environment.

Extensive knowledge of fund management processes and techniques.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

High level of natural intelligence and resourcefulness.

Broad understanding of compliance processes and procedures.

Understand at a high level the interface between complex business needs and the complex legal and regulatory environment in which the business operates.
