Wind Resource Analyst

 

Our client is a well established international renewable energy company with divisional sites across the globe, including the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain. The company has responsibility for the development of onshore and offshore wind farms in the UK, Ireland, Europe and Asia as well as developing hydro and marine projects.

We are currently seeking to recruit two Wind Analysts, one in Scotland and the other in Ireland. These positions report to the Resource Assessment Regional Manager and the successful candidates will be an active members of the Company's Resource Assessment team.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing early resource assessments and layouts to internal clients;
  • Management of installation, maintenance and removal of temporary meteorological masts;
  • Internal electricity production estimates and management of subcontracted analyses;
  • Auditing wind measurements from potential acquisition sites;
  • Internal site condition assessments and management of subcontracted analyses;
  • Ensuring departmental and mast contractor compliance with all relevant aspects of the Company's Safety, Health and Environmental policy.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of methods and QA procedures for the Resource Assessment team and contribute towards research activities.

Republic of Ireland and Scotland


A good engineering/physical science degree or equivalent

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in the field of wind resource assessment is essential
  • Strong analytical skills and very comfortable with IT
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with engineering judgment
  • High levels of energy and motivation
  • Have a capability to communicate clearly to other specialists and professionals who are not from a technology background
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
  • Fluency in English
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
